Results on Thursday night’s show – which opened with the tribute to dance legend and the director of The Ailey School Denise Jefferson, who died on Saturday after a bout with ovarian cancer – the judges, were feeling extra charitable.
After Lauren, Kent and the AdeChike found themselves safe from the elimination, Robert and the Jose performed solos in the attempt to stay in the competition. Billy, however, didn’t take the stage, despite being cleared by the doctor.
There are two ways of looking at situation:
1. Billy knows his body better than anyone else and he made the smart decision to sit out this week.
2. Billy is lazy.
But, who knows. Billy might take the stage too soon; he might have wound up in the surgery with the Alex. All we can hope is that he will be ready to dance next week. The judges may give Billy a second chance to reward him for knowing his limits.
